Mercury
Today we learned about the closest planet to the sun, MERCURY!
We found that Mercury has some similarities to our moon: Craters, no air, and they both can be very hot!
So, we built space probes that could travel to Mercury without getting burned by the hot sun.

Tornado Alley
We explored tornadoes in Seventh Age science this week. The students added water, vinegar, and dish soap to make a tornado in a jar! We agreed that the tornado looked more like a rope tornado than a wedge tornado because it was so thin!

Volcanoes!
The Seventh Age students did an excellent job creating volcanoes out of vinegar, baking soda, and food coloring. We learned that when the melted rock is inside of the volcano it is called magma, and when the volcano erupts the magma is called lava.
